Questions for Family Members
Main Post:
I’ve been working with my dad, aunt, and uncle to uncover and document the story of my paternal family (only bits were known, they were placed on a foster farm during WW2 and through life circumstances ended up living there their whole lives, though they knew and interacted with lots of family members). The story is interesting to me, of course, and through the process I’ve started to ask a lot of things like the first time they watched tv, first date, things like that.
My question to you all is, what are some questions you wished you asked your older family members? What are some questions you asked that you got really interesting answers to, or led to really good stories! I’m trying to compile a list of good ones to ask!

Asking for nicknames might be fun: my aging Mom recently told me when she was growing up early 1930s, she and her siblings used to call her uncle 'The Hunchback', although I don't know whether he really had one, or just bad posture. I also don't know whether the kids did this openly, or "behind his back", as it were (and yes, pun intended).
Also ask about any peculiarities. These next details again from my Mom:
- a granddad who had a pet turtle, and had drilled a small hole into its shell, so that he could "leash" him out in the backyard for exercise without fear of the turtle wandering off.
- another grandad with a "pegleg"
- another grandad who was a coffin-maker, and had built his own coffin which was kept in the family room, and which he would lie down in every evening to read his newspaper!! Would freak out the neighborhood kids.
And ask more than once! I've found my Mom suddenly remembers these little details and anecdotes during a new conversation, though we may have discussed the same forebear previously.
What are some good family history questions to ask older family members that beginners wouldn’t think of?

I also don’t want to open any old wounds, any tips?
Top Comment: My parents and grandparents have passed now, and I think I am older than rocks at this.point but I asked question th as oprned discussion. I really.widh I had recorded all of them. I took notes on the earliest ones. I have had great answers to: Do you remember your family's first TV? Do you remember the first time you traveled in a plane. What traditions did your family follow for holidays and Christmas? What was school like? From my father I found out that his first time seeing a plane was when a group of barstormers came to his little California, about 1916. They flew planes and a hot air balloon. My Dad, about six years old, remembered a trapeze 'flier' hanging from the gondola of the balloon, and the man did tricks up in the sky. This was a philanderer also the first time my GM and GF saw planes too. My grandfather was the only one in town who paid $5.00 to go for a plane ride. My great aunt, who lived until 104, remembered traveling by wagon to Idaho from S Utah about we 1890. I asked if she could remember a tragedy. Her answer really brought home how different like was in isolated mining towns. Her answer was of a child dying after picking a piece of lye from the floor boards of the little house. Women used homemade soaps to clean - the recipe for homemade soaps included lye and ashes (from what she told me).
Question for spotify family plan users
Main Post:
Keeping it short, I was planning to buy spotify premium with 5 of my friends (who live at different places). I read the family plan tnc and it says that all the members should be living under the same roof, and an address will be set that needs to be entered by everyone. So if i set an address and tell everyone else to copy paste it, am I good? or will they say that since they live at different places (via ip address) and suspend my plan?
Please share your own experience if you use spotify family plan have tried something like this

My dad pays for the family plan and lives 40 mins away from me. I think it’s quite hard to track with music cause that’s something people use on the go quite often!!! We have no issues and I haven’t lived with my dad for 5 years

Old family sharing question
Main Post:
With the new families out of beta, will the 5-6 people I had my library shared with for several years now no longer have my games shared with them? The old family page is no longer present in the settings menu so I don't know who does and doesn't have access to my library anymore.
Top Comment: You can find the old family share in this page https://store.steampowered.com/account/managedevices I still have it enabled for me and I also have the option to create a new family with the new system. I wonder when is this going to be discontinued?
Question Regarding Saving Rolan and family
Main Post:
Basically what I'm wondering is, is it possible to save Rolan's siblings if you didn't convince him to stay in the grove?
I just went to moonrise towers and freed the prisoners, and then found and rescued Rolan hiding on the moonrise docks. When I went to Last Light Inn he was pissed off that I didn't save his siblings and the game doesn't have a dialogue option suggesting they weren't there. Rather, it suggests they were there and they didn't make it or they got left behind.
I saw stuff online suggesting you need to talk to him first to even spawn in his siblings, so I reloaded to before releasing the prisoners and tried to go find and rescue Rolan, but now he's not there.
So is it not possible for me to save his siblings because of the choices I made in act 1?

A question regarding the Entrati family's origins.
Main Post:
What, if anything, do we know about Albrecht Entrati's wife? We know about Albrecht's relationship with Loid, and it's a recurring centerpiece of the current plot arch. But what do we know about the actual origins of the Entrati lineage on Deimos? Did Albrecht have a wife who passed away? Or was it all, Sol forsake, gay loid mpreg-
Top Comment: It’s mentioned that albrecht raised his daughter on his own and that she had her mother’s eyes. So either she died or wasn’t present.
A question about Divorce and Pension
Main Post:
First off, I understand that nothing here is legal advice and I do have a lawyer. I would just like to have some feed back from anyone that's gone through this.
Situation: recently separated and in the process of divorce in Ontario. I received my pension estimate of her entitlement from CFSA; hoever they are now talking about Family Law Value and that her entitlement is thousands more than the 50% of the number of years that we have been together?
Not looking for opinions pleasez just would like to hear from someone that has been through this and if this FLV calculation is actually a thing.
TIA
Top Comment: If you can, pay her the amount of the value of the pension. Don't actually withdraw from your pension if you can avoid it.
